1、 At present, epoxy steel strand is mainly used for cable-stayed bridges and anchor ingots with high anti-corrosion performance requirements. Excellent anti slip and wear resistance, short curing time, fast opening to traffic, and high cost-effectiveness. Epoxy resin coated steel bars are a type of coated steel bars produced under factory production conditions, using electrostatic spraying method to spray epoxy resin powder on the surface of ordinary ribbed steel bars and ordinary plain round steel bars. Epoxy resin coated steel bars have excellent corrosion resistance and significantly lower bonding strength with concrete. They are suitable for reinforced concrete structures in industrial and civil buildings, general structures, roads, bridges, ports, docks, etc. in humid environments or corrosive media (when used in industrial building anti-corrosion engineering, it should also be checked with relevant standards). The template engineering and steel reinforcement damage at the construction site, as well as a small amount of coating damage caused during construction operations, should be repaired in a timely manner.
2、 The Application and Prospects of Epoxy Coated Steel Strand in China
Although epoxy coated steel strands have been widely used abroad and are gradually maturing, they are still in the initial stage in China. There is relatively little research and application. But there are also practical applications, such as the Zhongba Bridge located on the Jinsha River in Yibin City, Sichuan Province. It is a single tower double cable plane concrete cable-stayed bridge with a total length of 965m and a tower height of 154m. The bridge adopts a tower pier consolidation and main beam floating system, with a bridge deck width of 30m. The stay cables are made of epoxy coated steel strands with a diameter of 15.24mm and a strength of 1860MPa. There are a total of 41 layers and 164 cables in the entire bridge.
In recent years, China has gradually attached importance to the research of epoxy coated steel strands. Nowadays, China's economy is rapidly developing, and the construction industry is also thriving. Developing epoxy coated steel lines, improving the corrosion resistance of prestressed structures, extending the service life of buildings, and saving steel are in line with the national conditions of developing countries like China. I believe that with the progress of research in China, epoxy coated stranded wire will be increasingly widely used in China.
